Throughout my life, art has been my hobby, my therapy and my escape. Its been my companion in happy periods and my hideaway in difficult ones.
Art for me is a way of expressing my emotions and my states of mind, which positive or negative always make their way into my creations. My work does not seek any sense or result - its the painting process itself which is the result. I dont impose limits on what I do or restrictions on the materials which I use. I'm always changing styles and themes, and always following my artistic inclinations to try new mediums and processes.
My landscapes are pure fantasy, where what matters are the colours and the play of light and shade which I use to create my own personal world. The creation of this private and intimate space helps me make sense of my life, as I collect and play with my recollections of different moments from my past and my memories of the different places in which I've lived, from the mountains of Los Andes where I spent my childhood, through the regions of the quiet and warm Mediterranean sea, to the land of the restless and chilly North Sea. Here I try also to capture part of the spirit of Britain, with its pure and clear skies and its clean and fresh winds rushing through this beautiful island.
All these elements are contained within me, but in my paintings they can burst out in a combination of colours and light and shade, and create a unique and special world in which can be found opposites and contradictions living together in both harmony and conflict.
