I am going to introduce my current work. What I needed to make was an installation work. My site was a car park in Hyde Park. The car park was nearly dark and cold. I could only find machines and a few people over there. And the sound which I could hear was from lots of passing cars, such as the car sound when it moved or stopped, and motor horn sound.
It made me feel that I am in to the world of machine. It also made me think that there is no connection between human and machine and machine worked without human being.
So I thought about between interaction between human and machine. Human can be an input and machine can be an output or machine can be an input and human can be an output. And I made an interactive machine which human can play with, for example if human makes any sound, my machine will be activated by the sound. My two fans which I connected to sound and motion sensor and situates at both ends of the piece which I put in sound and light sensor inside of it will be spinning and the piece will be moving by wind. The piece will be moving by only sound, it can detect any sound and activate by the sound. They are installed at the place where there were 6 columns at the edge and one column in the middle. So if there is any sound, the sonic sails which is the name of my piece as well, so the sonic sail will be gathered in the middle and will be scattered to the edge. And they will make human feel surprise and interested in it. There will be an interaction between human and machine in the car park.
